Greetings!
Summer in Chicago is a glorious time. We hope you are finding it as productive and enjoyable as we are.
We paused from our activities long enough to pull together a couple items we are working on. First, is a report from the Innovation Summit where LPP was invitied to participate as a delegate. The other is new work by Buckley and Ginny McGarrity, one of our recruiter friends, about Corporate Culture and Executive Fit.
We hope you enjoy them both and have a terrific rest of the summer!

Innovation Summit Features LPP
Launchpad Partners participated in the Chicago Innovation Summit Roundtable. Buckley Brinkman was elected as a delegate to the panel and participated in a wide-ranging discussion on Innovation.
The Summit discussed the difficulties of innovating in these times and the increasing need to make it a priority. Companies are under stress as the economy continues to struggle. It's more important than ever to move now and focus on innovation to create new growth.
This innovation requires leaders' personal investments of time and energy. Leaders must make innovation a mission critical initiative in their organizations. It means overcoming fear of making mistakes and engaging the entire organization.

The Perfect Fit !
Corporate Culture is one of the critical elements involved with any change effort. We recently worked with Ginny McGarrity, a recruiter with over a decade of experience, to put together a whitepaper on Coporate Culture and Executive fit. This paper outlines a new seven-element model that provides the tools to define corporate culture and assess executives' fit.
Companies seeking to increase executive bench strength often hire the best overall executive for their opening. The hire is made based on the belief that strong management skills are transferrable. Relying on this belief rarely delivers a slam dunk, as up to 25% of new executives fail within 18 months. We propose that understanding corporate culture - a definable and stable company quality - and the executive's experience within that culture is a better determination of success.
